The Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) will act in an advisory capacity to study investigators and the American Heart Association to monitor patient safety and the performance of the clinical studies in meeting their stated objectives. The DSMB is made up of a group of individuals with pertinent expertise that reviews, on a regular basis, conduct of trials including safety and efficacy data, from one or more ongoing clinical trials.
